Sesame oil can be used for sunscreens as it is able to block up to 30% UV radiation. Very similar to avocado oil, it's a rich emollient that is high in unsaturated fatty acids and antioxidants. Its antioxidant properties increase its own shelf life and can be used to prevent homemade lotions and creams from spoiling. However, please exercise caution: sesame oil is a serious allergen to some people including infants.
